Does anyone know for sure if PCOS does cause pelvic pain? From: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 19 Oct 2001 03:55:30 -0500 (CDT)
For the past 20 months, i have had severe pelvic pain. In july 2000, I had a laparoscopy that showed I have PCOS. However, I was told that PCOS cannot cause pelvic pain, and I wasn't given a diagnosis for the pain other than perhaps psychosocial causes. I'm only 17, and it's totally screwing my life up, I can't even go to a normal school I do it by correspondence. I know that lots of people have questions, but I would really love an answer if possible as to what could be causing this pain. I'm not sexually active, so the doctor has ruled out anything sexually transmitted. Can anyone tell me for sur whether or no PCOS can cause pelvic pain like this, for so long and everyday, and very severe? And if it doesn't cause pain, can anybody suggest anything that could be causing this pain? I desparately need help! Amy
