I would say to be on the lookout for an endocrinologist who will likely be more help than a gyno. Just my two cents.

In the meantime I think you might be somebody who could really benefit from a lowcarb diet. Yeast feeds on sugar in our systems, too much sugar can cause intestinal bloating and diarrhea, and it can also really mess with moods. You can lowcarb and be on meds, and in fact lowcarbing actually helps insulin sensitizers work better. Self care is at least as important as medication in PCOS. I lost 50 lbs in a year on lowcarb, and I have 90 to lose, so this was super helpful to me.

I had high testosterone which I got down to 87 after a year of lowcarbing (http://www.atkinsfriends.com or http://www.holdthetoast.com or http://www.eatprotein.com are awesome resources). However the only drug that will truly lower testosterone down to the levels below 30 that women should have, is Avandia. I took Avandia (2 mg) plus Glucophage Extended Release (1000 mg) for two months this summer and got pregnant, which is a fantastic indicator that my testosterone was lowered.

Finally, I am not familiar with the birth control you are taking. I think you need to make absolutely sure that it is a monophasic (same dose every day in the 21 active pills) rather than a triphasic (the dose changes every 5-7 days). Triphasics are too weak for PCOSers to completely suppress ovulation, and they cause us to form extra cysts which then dump their testosterone into our bloodstream and cause facial hair and balding. You might consider adding Aldactone/Spironolactone (an anti androgen) to help slow the hair loss and facial hair growth; however you cannot ttc on this so you would need birth control of some kind. It is also a mild diuretic and that agreed with me!!!

Hope this all helps you and that you get some relief soon!!!!
