Wishing I knew how long fertility treatment would go on for....

I have been reading the messages and posting the occasional one on the forum for 6 monts or so and am now feeling really fed up.

I have what my consultant describes as 'classic pcos'. I apparently exhibit all the symptoms and my ovaries really do look like big baloons with lots and lots of baloons inside them on the scans. I also have the most unattractive acne.

As we have been trying for a baby for about 2 years, I was tried on Clomid. This had absolutely no effect.

I was then given ovarian drilling. This had no effect.

I have been given clomid again, and it doesn't look like it has had any effect.

My consultant is now talking about injecting hormones twice a day, and has warned that because I have so many nearly-mature follicles, I could end up with hyperstimulation. I am not worried too much about this as I will have scans every other day to ensure that they can operate if this happens. However, I am getting very very weary of fertility treatments.

I wonder why nothing appears to work on me when others get pregnant by clomid. Clomid now seems to me to be such a simple answer when it works for people.

I am at the end of my energy and yet, I can not give up unless I can give up on wanting children. This is never going to happen.

Sorry to be so very sad. I feel very lucky to be getting treatment and for that I am happy. However, I do wish that God would perform a miracle - it appears to be exactly what I need!
