Hi ALicia, Sounds like you need a DIFFERENT IR drug, not NONE. I would stop taking the Met if you find that you can't deal with it anymore. I had some severe side effects from it too. I ended up in the ER after nearly 2 months of taking it. I stopped taking it and was later switched to Avandia. I would stop taking it if you don't like the side effects and don't feel it's doing anything. However, some people say that after taking it for a while (up to 6 months) the side effect diminish and they then feel better. But this is not true for ALL who take it. Talk to your Dr about getting switched to a DIFFERENT insulin sensitivity pill (Avandia or Actos) and stop taking the Met if you're not happy with it. Avandia has had NO nasty side effects for me, so I'm happy to have been switched to it. ;)
