I might be going off Met due to side effects--anyone else do this ever? From: ALicia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 15 Oct 2001 06:41:53 -0500 (CDT)
I was going to post this on medication board but its too slow there. I am having too many side effects from Met and its really hasnt done anything for me. I was losing weight before. The only thing Met has done is erase all my brown splotches. I dont have too many stomach problems from MEt. I eat processed foods only rarely and figured out that whever I ate something white floury---sugary that Id get nauseous but this was very rare. My lymphedema has gotten worse since I was on this drug. Only thing though, it did reduce some of the hypoglycemic shakes but not by much. Now I can go 6 hours instead of 4 -5 without getting them between meals. Big deal. Is that worth being on some heavy duty medication? A hairdresser was cutting my hair and told me I had medication hair. No doubt, it was breaking off and falling out. I need to be on less medicines not more. I have to stay on my Aldactone though because that does help take off weight. Im not diabetic (am insulin resistant)so I dont have that to worry about. Heres a question however Will going off Metformin cause my blood sugar to go nuts when I go off this drug????? I can get hypoglyecemic pretty easily. Any comments will be welcomed.
