Re: Support groups for Partners of PCOS women? From: Dana (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 14 Oct 2001 21:38:18 -0700 (PDT)
Iain, Let me start out by saying ..you're wonderful for caring and helping out your fiance'. She really needs to see an edo. PCOS is more than irregular periods and irritability. SHe may have other problems such as insuline resistance ...alot of pcos women suffer from hypothyroidism as well. That left untreated can cause depression and other major problems. Talk to her and stress the importance of seeing a Dr..other than a gp..her health may depend on it. Pcos is a scary thing. We never know what each days symptoms may bring. I've read association to bipolar disease, depression, cfs and a few others found in pcos women. Hope I didn't say too much. I have lots of articles and links to information. E-mail me anytime...i'll send it to you or her if you'd like.. Correct your mistakes, never give up on your dreams. Most important...trust God... I pray for my empty arms to be filled with a bundle of joy. What a Blessing that will be.
