Maybe I do, maybe I don't have PCOS? - doc Sam?From: anne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 3 Oct 2001 13:08:54 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I was diagnosed with PCOS because my LH:FSH ratio was greater than 3:1, actually I guess it was almost 4:1 but that test was done midcycle. I was tested again on day 4 of my cycle and my LH was 5 and FSH was 4, my estridol might have been low, hard to tell from the ranges given, my insulin was okay (which considering my exercising and diet is not surprising), my ferritin was on the low side 23 (10-100-something) because I've read it should be 50-90. The ultrasound technician said I don't have polycystic ovaries and she saw an egg about to drop (I'm midcycle). Does this mean I might not have PCOS or might it mean I'm in the early stages? My periods are fairly normal and mostly regular but fairly painful (they found a fibroid which might account for the pain), I have been unable to lose weight. History of diabetes in the family, I have hashimoto's and am hypo.
