Does PCOS go awayFrom: Becky (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 29 Sep 2001 15:50:44 -0500 (CDT)
Hi I am a 30 year old female with one natural child. About a year ago I had to have one of my overies and fallopian tubes removed because of an extreamly large cyst. When I was about 19 I went to an Endocrologist and he diagnosed me as having PCOS. I was on B/C and Aldacton for about 8 years. I stopped taking the meds. and got pregnant and had my son. After he was born I didn't go back onto any meds. Then all of the other stuff happened (cyst and removal). Now I go to a Dr. which I have mixed feelings about. He has prescribed Ortho Tri cyclen and Zoloft. Everything that I have read says that women with PCOS shouldn't take that B/C pill. I was wondering if anyone else knew of that. Also I go back to him in October. I don't feel like he is helping me with my problems--I have gained a lot of weight and I have no energy, constatnt hunger and just don't feel good. I don't like doing the things I used to do and it just becomes a vicious circle. I would like some advice on what to ask my Dr. about and how do I ask about the questions I have. I am considering gettting another Dr. but I don't want them to think of me a just another hypercondriact. I don't really know what to do and any advice would be very much appreciated!!!! I am worried about losing my other overary and not being able to have another baby. Does this condition go away or is it a lifetime problem. I have alot of questions and I would like you to email me directly, if you can help. BS060494@hotmail.com. Thank you for any time that you can give me. Thank you in advance.
