Without question my vote goes to insulin sensitizers. Almost every medical research article concerning PCOS (at least in the US so far, although I believe some are from the UK and at least one is from Sweden) done in the past few years has shown the efficacy of treating the insulin resistance to treat the symptoms and health risks of PCOS. Just do a quick online search and you should come up with plenty. For more try an online medical database like Medscape.

As far as your own treatment goes, also consider anti-androgens to treat symptoms and every few months, progesterone to induce a period and help keep your reproductive system healthy.

I wish you so much luck in this! It's desperately needed in the UK and would help so many women to get their lives back.
