Actually, you will find as you learn more that PCOS can also put you at a higher risk for heart disease, but of course the Pill isn't necessarily any better. There are alternatives, including herbal medicine, treatment with insulin-sensitizing medications, or, just to regulate menstruation, progesterone.

Have you already read the information available at http://www.pcosupport.org (see especially the Medical section)? What about searching the archives for this forum?
