Hi Jodi,
First, I'm surprised that your Dr didn't inform you that ALL antibiotics
can have an effect on your BCPs. BCPs don't INDUCE a period, they only
help to regulate it. It's PROVERA that is commonly used to induce a
period. I would suggest you keep taking your pills as scheduled, but to
call this Dr and explain your concern of not getting a period yet. You
may very well be pregnant, or it could just be your hormones a little
screwy because of the antibiotic interferring with them. In any event,
please realize that you are not the only patient this Dr has---and even
though you being on a BCP is on your record--it doesn't mean s/he looked
at that when they put you on the antibiotic. They could have simply
forgotten. Give him/her a call and explain your concern. They'll
advise you on what to do from there.
