late period, antibiotics & BCP

Hi all...

I am wondering if anybody knows if the antibiotic they put you on for baceterial vaginosis (flagel) is one of the ones that makes BCPs ineffective?

I am wondering because my "period" (BCP induced bleed) should have started on Monday... and it hasn't. I'm supposed to start a new pack of pills tomorrow and I don't know what to do. I know how the package inserts usually say something along the lines of start a new pack anyway, and if you don't get a period then, get a pregnancy test... but I don't like that line of behaviour somehow. But I'm afriad if I get a test now, it won't be accurate anyway, both because it's so early and because don't PCOSers tend to have false negatives?

I don't know what to do here. I've never had a late period while on BCPs. The thing is, though, I was on flagel (sp) the first week or so of this last pack... and I am wondering if that might have made the pill ineffective... the doctor didn't say anything when she put me on it, and she knew I was on BCPs... so I'm hoping it's not one of those antibiotics... but who knows?

I've been wearing nice underwear in the hopes of getting my period - hopefully someone else will know how THAT always seems to go - but, no luck.

Hrumph...
