I can't tell you how much I relate to looking in the mirror and thinking.....why do I have facial hair?.....why do I look pregnant because I have this huuuuge mid-section?.....why do I have this nasty, pimply-like rash on my arms?....and why at my size do I have such small breasts? Even though I know the answer, it doesn't seem to make it any easier. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 19 but its taken me till now (12 years later) to shake off some of the shame that has kept me silently suffering to myself. Friends and boy-friends never fully understanding how bad it feels, they tell me I look totally normal and to stop complaining. They have not idea of how "unfeminine" I feel sometimes and how I work around the clock to keep my weight down. It has given me much strength to have found this sight and talk freely and openly here in this "cyber-space" to other women that feel the same. Just joining in to offer my voice and resenance. I guess the gift we do have in all of this, is eachother....that is no small thing. -Margaret
