Dear Ayesha
I just saw your message - a bit late! I'm writing from England, but
don't let that put you off!
I've had PCOS for years but was only diagnosed a few years back. I'm on
Dianette but have recently had breakthrough bleeding so am not sure
about whether I can continue on it.
But in terms of you - no, it's not just you with depression. Apparently
a lot of women with PCOS get depressed, not least because of the
horrible symptoms. And of course it may be a coincidence - ie the PCOS
may not be the cause. Either way, it's not your fault. And neither is
the weight gain.
I hope you've had success with metformin. If not, Weight Watchers is
great - you might be hungry for a few days but other than that it's
really easy to follow. And then try to go to the gym to keep the weight
off once you've reached your target. Keep at it and you'll get there!
good luck!
Lesley
