Thanks for the adviceFrom: Ana (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Sep 2001 22:11:16 -0500 (CDT)
Hello Everyone, I just wanted to thank everyone for the advice that they've offered. It's a very kind and comforting enviorment and it's fabulous to have a place where people understand what I'm going through. I got diagonosed it little less than 2 years ago, (I'm 21). I didn't even know about PCOS till I read an article in SELF magazine. I realized I had all the symptoms and I took it to my gynocologist who diagnosed me. She put me on Provera, which I must confess I do not take at regular times every month. I take it every month just not the same time every month. (Strangely enough a friend of mine also went to the gynoncologist that day and found out she had 2 uteruses, but that is another story all together). It seems that this low-carbs things works really well for everyone. However due to my cultural eating habits (dinner at an Indian home consists of either rice or bread)I can see no way to cut out carbs compeletly. I have tried however to cut down as much as possible (bread in resturants etc.)I take magnesium supplements (which is supposed to help metabolism)and I try to do aerobic excersise (step aerobics) 4-6 times a week. If anyone has any more suggestions I'm open. Thanks for Listening Ana
