Avandia and low blood sugar???? Reply: Munchichic: "Re: Avandia and low blood sugar????" Hi all, recently I was taken off Met due to side effects and started Avandia. While I was on Met, my blood sugars remained fine = no serious swings, drops etc. Since being on only Avandia, I've started getting low readings again - which I haven't had since being diagnosed as diabetic last summer. Anyway, the doctor claims that Avandia should not cause hypoglycemia as long as you eat regular meals and do not fast. I feel like I am eating continually to just keep my blood sugar up! Did anyone else on Avandia experience anything like this? It is causing me a great deal of anxiety since I thought for sure the horrible low blood sugar was finally gone!
