Menstrual Migraines and PCOSFrom: Allison (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Sep 2001 16:13:30 -0500 (CDT)
I have been diagnosed with PCOS for about 12 years (I am 29) and have been on the pill since I was 16 in order to control irregular periods and extreme acne. Ever since I have turned 26 or so, I suffer from very bad menstrual migraines. I have read that women who are using oral contraceptives (I use Diane 35) are more likely to suffer from migraines, and they are encouraged to discontinue their OC. I feel like I'm being asked to choose between the pain of migraines and the effects of PCOS...particularly the psychological effects of painful and noticeable acne. Has anyone else had any similar experience and found a solution that works? I am going to be visiting a naturopath because Im just about at the end of my rope. Thank you.
