Do you think I could have PCOS?From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Sep 2001 14:08:29 -0500 (CDT)
I'm 35, good health, 1 son (took 9 months to conceive naturally) 1 m/c (took 8 months to conceive naturally) and have not been able to conceive in 4 years. Did the entire infertility workup including drugs (clomid, gonal f , all with IUI's and no luck) also had a LAP and RE could not find anything. My periods have always been normal except for the last couple of months. I have had a lot of spotting before my periods and my periods have been very heavy and extremely clotty. For the past year I have been getting acne (nothing severe) on my neck area and my stomach is always bloated even when I do not have my period. I am about 106 lbs and I always have a huge gut. I am at my withs end, especially knowing that my baby making clock is ticking. I have had a couple of ovarian cysts in the past years, but they have gone away. Concidentally, the both times I had a cyst, I got pregnant the next month, after they went away. My obgyn or RE have never mentioned PCOS to me but I have been reading up on it and it does seem like I have some symptoms. I am going to a new OBGYN on Saturday. Is there anything that I should tell him that might be pertinent to a diagnosis ? Thanks for your time...
