I too have seborrheic dermatitis. My face is just as you describe, but
I also have a lot of flakiness along with the redness. One thing I have
definitely learned about those tiny little "whiteheads" that sometimes
pop up with the seb derm is DO NOT TOUCH THEM! They're not normal little
zits, and I have done some serious damage to my face when I have tried
to squeeze them. I have been so hesitant about putting any lotions on
my face to treat it because of the cystic acne I get (I break out if the
wind blows the wrong way)...my dermatologist just gave me Desowen
lotion. Have you tried it? It has almost completely cleared the spots
around my nose and on my cheeks, and has caused no breakouts. It is
amazing stuff, but is prescription only. If you haven't tried it, I
suggest it! I think it is pretty mild so your derm would probably just
call it in for you.

P.S. Anti-fungal (Nizoral) and hydrocortisone did not help me either.
