Hi, I am a PCOS sufferer living in Scotland, and recently I have been referred to a plastic surgeon for laser hair removal. Apparently PCOS sufferers in the UK are entitled to this treatment free of charge on the NHS. I was most surprised to learn this as I thought it would be regarded as a cosmetic procedure. Your friend can also be referred for this treatment by her GP but she must ASK as it is not normally offered. I am 19 years old and I have coarse dark hair on my face, breasts, back, upper arms and legs. Nothing else has worked for me so I was very happy to learn this. I hope this is of some help. Love, Jen.
