RE???

Hi. I have a question. What exactly is a Reproductive Endochrinologist? What do they do? Is it just like a regular Endo, where you go, they talk to you, do blood work, etc, and that's it? Or is it like a GYN where you get a Pelvic exam and stuff? I have PCOS and my regular Endo said I should see a RE that specializes in PCOS, but I am not trying to conceive at the time--I'm only 20 and in college. But I'd like to be able to have babies in the future. I was wondering what exactly a RE is. Thanks for your help.
