Glucophage is NOT a weight loss drug. A side effect of glucophage can be nausea, etc., and some will lose weight (I lost almost 30 pounds, but have levelled off).

The glucophage levels off your insulin levels, so you don't do the binge eating. That, in turn, helps with the testosterone and estrogen levels.

Not all women w/PCOS are insulin resistant, but the majority are, and for those of us that are, the glucophage works.

On some with IR, the women are on other glucophage type drugs - Avandia is one.

Good luck!

There's tons of research on this site, start digging!
