The amount of testosterone thrown off into your bloodstream is a concrete indicator of what is going on with your cysts; an ultrasound is a best guess of what is visible by that tech that day. Normal testosterone in a woman should be around 30; it used to be 45. When you have elevated levels, you can know that more needs to be done. I guess it's a preference thing; I feel the bloodwork is more precise than the scan. However if one's insurance covers multiple ultrasounds and you are not one who minds them, I can't see what it would hurt to look around. :o)
