Dear Blue Joan, I certainly cannot answer all of your questions, but one huge reason that it is important to deal with your PCOS is because if you do not have a period you can develop too much endomertruim (sp?) lining on your uterus. I have been staying on top of my PCOS and still I developed adenomatous hyperplasia which is a precancerous condition. Which is something anyone with PCOS can get if they are not having regular periods. The reason for metformin is to try and control your insulin resistance. Im sorry you are dealing which such overwhelming time right now. But just know that we are here for you at anytime. Good luck with everything.
