Fasting glucose only measures whether you're a diabetic or not, it does not measure insulin resistance. Your doctor has to do a fasting glucose test and an insulin test, and take the ratio between the two (or something like that). It is definitely possible to treat insulin resistance with glucophage even if you are not diabetic.

As far as the pill, definitely don't stick with the triphasic pills, especially since you've been having the pain. That's a sign that it's not suppressing your cysts, which is the only thing the pill can do for us (besides pregnancy prevention, of course). Good luck finding a good doctor. They are a rarity when it comes to dealing with PCOS.
