Re: 'In Need Of Some Validation'From: anonymous@obgyn.netFri, 31 Aug 2001 00:01:55 EDT
Hi! I'm 246#s @ 5-4 and it's not uncommon for women to become even heavier than that. It's your genes and how your body is working now at this present time with age and weight change together with Pcos. It effects every part of our body and the changes it makes are totally disturbing. Some women loose weight some gain it until they reach a standing point. The way our systems react to the pcos and even the med.s we use are different for all of us. Right now I'm not gaining any more weight and am currently not taking meds because of the severity of the side effects. Provera and spiro are all I can take. @ 246 lbs. I have a spare tire but @ 200lbs. I only looked thick and I still had a waist. I wish I could get back to 200-I fought so hard to get there. I was up to 278 lbs. I was massive-all belly I looked like I was 12 months over due. I still look pregnant but not as bad. weight sits differently on every body. I understand how it makes you feel and I hate it too. But you can only take one day at a time. one pound at a time. If it really bothers you that much I would consider seeing a nutricionalist or a dietician to help. And your doctor shouldn't be discouraging you by acting like it's disgusting that you're at the weight you are. You couldn't help it, but you can stop it. We need guidence and support from each other and from our doctors. Because they know so little about this disease, they can be ignorant and down right rude. We need to stick together and help each other through these trying times. Because there isn't much to do about this whole pcos thing until they find out exactly what it is and how to fix it. Until then all we can do is mask it and find our own methods that work. With this board we can find our strength and help each other with a combintion of different things that will work for each us. God Bless and Don't Give Up. There's an answer some where out there. Love ya all, Tara
