Re: Question for the person 'in charge' of this site....From: Jen (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 26 Aug 2001 17:03:59 -0700
Snowchik, It sounds like you are getting your email in HTML format. If you are using Microsoft Outlook, look at the title bar on this email. (The very top line of this window, it may be blue if you haven't changed your color settings.) Does it say "Message(Plain Text)" or "Message(HTML)"? I don't get the digest, I get each individual posting, but I'm assuming that if it is sent out in HTML format the colors are used to help you distinguish between each individual email in the digest. Plain text would get pretty confusing as it would all look like "typewriter" text and each break would be indistinguishable. As for cleaning out your history (cache) and temp files... this is more for your web browsing than for emails. Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options, General Tab, Under Temporary Internet files, click on the Delete Files button. This will delete all the temporary files in the specified directories under the Settings button. The settings button is also where you can change the size of your cache. In the same area (on the General Tab), there is a section titled History. There is a spot there to set the number of days you will keep in your history files. I would suggest that you set this to a low number. The more days that are in there, the larger your cache will need to be. I have mine set to 5, but I do not surf the web as much as most people. You can also clear out your history files from that section by clicking the "Clear History" button. You can setup Outlook to empty your deleted items folder each time you close outlook and that will help to keep space clean on your hard drive. This is done by going to Tools, Options, Click on the "Other" tab, check box that says "Empty the deleted items folder upon exiting". If there are other questions, please feel free to email me directly at jen_rhodes@lvcm.com. (Can you tell what I do for a living?) :) Jen
