Re: Find a Dr. in Houston AreaFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 26 Aug 2001 09:38:43 -0500 (CDT)
I too live in the Houston area and have recently been diagnosed by Dr. Dale Hamilton in the NW area. He's hard to get into, took me a wait of approx 5 weeks. Once in, he really listened to me, talked for over an hour, went over my entire history and previous records with me, had me do over 14 blood tests, and I feel I got a perfect diagnosis and the recommended treatment is in line with what I've read about. One thing that he told me about made me cry and he was very understanding and kind to me. The office is in a nice building and the staff is great so far. Good luck to you and your daughter. She's so young, I certainly can see your concern, but also remember that birth control pills are nothing more than a control of your hormones, and if she's having hormone problems, those pills are probably the right thing to do. If you never tell her what they are and don't call them that, then she'll never make the connection. I know I've gone for years with horribly unpleasant side affects because my hormones were off. I wouldn't wish that frustration on my greatest enemy, and wish I knew about it years ago! I think you're an awesome mom for wanting a second opinion. Hope things turn out OK.
