Hello Joanne,

Metformin/Glucophage , from what I read in books and material on web is helping sugar get into the blood cells, and therefore decreases the insulin levels that will raise for people with IR ( Insulin Resistance) that is considered one of the root causes of the PCOS.

My understanding is that it won't decrease your regular blood sugar level and it's ok to take it even if you're not diabetic.

I have taken it now for two months and it has been wonderful, I lost weight ( 8 Kg ! ) and I'm less moody.
