Hi Helen I have been taking Glucovance for 3 months now. I wasnt on medication for my diabetes before so I cant give you a comparison to other meds. (Taking it for type 2 diabetes not just for PCOS). As you probably already know Glucovance is 1.25mg glyburide and 250 mg Metformin HCI. I had the (usual) Met. side effects when I first started the med. I havent had much weight loss Less than 5 pounds in 3 months however I have felt my body changing shape and my clothes fit better. One surprising result was that my breasts have gotten fuller and firmer. BTW Glucovance has a money back guarantee if your blood sugar isnt lowered in three months. Mine has lowered quite a bit. Hope this helps. Faye
