Hi again Zowie,
even slightly high or being on the high side of normal range with
insulin resistance can cause problems with us PCOSers not being able to
loose weight and PCOS symptoms! You said your insulin is still slightly
elevated I would talk to the doctor about maybe upping the dosage of
Avandia a bit to see if you can get the level completely normal range
then maybe you can start having better luck with your dieting efforts
and the PCOS symptoms.Avandia can cause weight gain just like Actos...it
is a side affect just like weight loss can be a side affect with
metformin. Dosen't happen to everyone. You and I are just in the group
that get this nasty side affect of weight gain with Avandia and Actos. I
did end up loosing the weight I gained once my levels were normalized.
It didnt happen overnight though it took time!I gained 15 lbs in one
month...took me 3 months to loose them!I wish we could loose the weight
as fast as we gain it...but unfortunately thats not how our bodies work
=(. Give Avandia Time I think it will work for you...if you've already
seen some improvement in your insulin...it might get even better!Dont
give up!
Good luck tomorrow and don't take no for an answere (smile)Dona
