It's Official...

Well guys, I finally had all my suspicions confirmed - I do have PCOS. I was dx by an Endocrinologist yesterday. It was strange; I got all teary when she told me. I don't know if that's relief knowing that I wasn't imagining all this after all, or the reality that now this is real. I feel so detached. It's so hard trying to explain to people what this is considering most people's attention spans are very short and it's hard to explain this in one or two sentences so that they "get" it. I know your mind plays a huge role in how your body deals with things like this, so I'm hoping that soon I will have a more level head to make some real decisions and changes.

Since my liver enzymes are high, I'm having all kinds of tests done on it so holding off on the medication thing for now. I'm going to try to do the low carb/exercise thing for a couple of months and see how I do with that. If it works, yay - no meds! But if not (which my gut tells me the case may be) I'm more than likely going to have to go the meds route, especially given my strong family history of diabetes and heart disease.

I truly believe that someone was looking out for me to make sure I found this website; you are all angels and you've all given me so much support and knowledge. I at least have a place where I feel "at home."

Thanks guys... Hope everyone is doing well.
