Now Belinda, there is no such thing as an ignorant question. "fatty liver" is just a reference to the amount of fat deposits in the liver. The next time you have bloodwork done...if the doc runs a hepatic function panel (liver panel), look at the ALT and AST levels....if those are elevated, that signifies "fatty liver". which in and amongst itself does not really mean much. .....kristin
