Oh please please be careful of those steroids. I was on them during my
350lb weight gain and I have always reacted badly to prednisone for
asthma. I know refuse it unless I am on deaths door. I gained 70lbs
once in one documented month off a prednisone packs. Try Singulair its
nonsteroidal. The steroid inhaler Flovent can cause pseudo Cushings and
the weight gain combined with untreated endocrine problems can GET VERY
SERIOUS!
I actually carry a paper on me refusing all steroids in my purse in case
I end up in the hospital and they want to give me a steroid shot. That
can mean 50lbs and on my 450lbs regaining that weight could kill me
quicker then the asthma.

>I wonder how many more of us out there are dealing with alergy / asthma? I have been reading the posts over the past few days and sarted thinking about my own problems reguarding this... I am on Allegra for alergies and an inhaler for when I excercise or get exerted (I usually end up with an asthma attack... Dr. calls it excercise / sport induced asthma)and it has been getting worse over the past year or so. I never thought there was a problem with inhalers and sugar levels (even my Dr. perscribes an extra inhaler for me instead of steroids when I get bronchitis(sp?)in the winter time because he said that steriods will make my sugar go up but the inhailers won't). Go figgure! I guess he has a lot to learn!
