lactating, never been preg (and hello again, all!)From: jodi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Jul 2001 15:23:12 -0500 (CDT)
hi all... allow me to show a glimpse of my elitism and say that if i were not the one posting this question, i would probably get annoyed that the poster was posting something that had nothing to do with PCOS. i mean... we've had quite our share of little 16 year olds coming on here asking such questions as "can i get pregnant if my boyfriend and i just make out heavily?" or whatever... :) but i DO have PCOS and while this questions doesn't have to do with PCOS necassarily... well, someone might be able to answer it as PCOS makes us all too familiar with the ways a woman's body ought to work and in our case, all the ways it messes up. does anyone know if extensive... uhhhh, oral and manual breast stimulation... can cause a person to begin lactating??? i'm sure you don't need to know all the nitty gritty details of my sex life ... but that is the thing that really turns me on. back in april or so, i realised i was producing breast milk!!! just very small amounts... you'd have to squeeze pretty hard to get it out. it was coming from both breasts so i assume it wasn't an infection thing. the first day i noticed it... i tasted it, and it tasted like garlic. i'd eaten garlic something or other the day before... of course, i was rather freaked out. i went out and bought a pregnancy test to see if it was THAT but it wasn't... i had had prolactin levels checked last august when i first began my PCOS testing saga... and they were normal. the only thing that changed between that time and april was, well, my bf and i went from friends to going out in early september. i have been afriad to bring this up with a doctor... what if it's cancer or something? the thing is... since he has been away all summer... well, it seems to have stopped. and early on i notived that... since i kept being a nitwit and checking throughout the day, every time i squeezed there would be a greater amount coming out. (we're talking drops here as amounts... not large amounts...) i do have a doctors appointment in august and i might decide to bring this up but i am wondering... is it possible that just breat stimulation is enough to cause lacation??? - jodi
