Hi List,

I am a 22 y/o female who has been battling with irregular cycles for almost as long as I can remember. I went to my doctor in early March and had a number of tests done. My free testosterone came back at 22 and I was referred off to a endocrinologist. I went to see him last week and was told that I have PCOS. This eplains not only my irregular periods but also my extra face, thinning of hair on my head, the fact that I have weight gain and my depression from a few years ago which they knocked off as a chemical imbalance.

I feel absolutly helpless about all this.....and have urged my 17 y/o sister to also go and get tested. My doctor has given me a prescription for Dian 35 whcih I will start once my period shows up again(where could it be only 6 wekks late!). My big fear is the fertility issue and I have told my boyfriend about all of this. He has been very supportive but has told me to stay away from all sweets cause he doesn't want me to become a diabetic, and I agree with him on that!

Any supoort, pearls of wisdom or other would be helpful. I am just going to browse the website and see if I can find some answers to my questions about what I am going to have to live with now for the rest of my life!

Kind Regards,

--
Sarah
