Hi Laryssa... the dark skin patches is called (i think the spelling is right) ancanthosis nicagrans. It is totally related to PCOS and or IR. >From what I understand most women with pcos have it, but may not even
notice it if it is in a spot they can't see. Most commom places, thighs, ankles, neck and under the breasts. It won't hurt you, but it is kinda yucky. Mine is the worst right where I wear my necklace so it looks like it's not real gold!! How embarrassing !! Oh well... hang in there. If there is anything else, please feel free to email me directly, just make sure to pcos in the subject. I have been on the board forever, but sit silent most times and let the newer people talk.
