ALW, Hi. I am definately NOT an expert by any means (This is all still really new to me) but I have been doing a lot of reading. I believe that while the Metformin is used only for treating the insulin resistance it can have positive side effects, not because of the medicine itself, but because your Insulin level is better. It is the out of wack Insulin that causes more Testosterone to be produced which causes a lot of the problems such as hair problems.
