Laser Hair RemovalFrom: Anna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 24 Jul 2001 12:47:18 -0500 (CDT)
Does anyone know how effective laser hair removal is for us PCOSers? I am really frustrated with all the facial hair. I have fair skin and course dark hair, which would ideally make me a good candidate for the laser treatment. I found a specialist that charges approx. $500 per treatment (includes upper lip, chin, neck, cheeks). I think that's outragious but I don't know. She said it typically takes 3-6 treatments. She was not familiar with PCOS though. I'm wondering if the hormones will just cause the hair to keep growing back. I'm currently not taking any medication for PCOS. Was on Actos but it wasn't helping so doctor recommends that I go on BC pill until I am TTC. The problem with that is I also have high blood pressure so I'm looking into the right pill for me (I'll take any suggestions for that too!). Also, I am going to keep looking for the right person to do the hair removal since this one isn't familiar with PCOS. Does anyone know of a good one in the Central Florida area? Many Thanks in advance!
