Go to this website .... http://www.bodyfueling.com/Carbophobia.html ... and it explains all about carbohydrates (doesn't necessarily agree with low carbohydrates, just the correct healthy ones). It also goes into protein and fat and health in general but read the whole article because the best bits are near the end. It sounds to me like your doctor is getting you to cut down on carbohydrates all together - but she hasn't distinguished between brown rice and white rice etc. If you cut your carbohydrates all together, your body turns to protein into blood sugar which is a strain on the body - very interesting article! I'm glad I found it because I was about to become really obsessive and not eat any carbs. I haven't seen an endocrinologist yet, but I'm hoping the cause of my PCOS is something similar to yours and not something scarey!
