Monica - I've only just found this site and think it's great! Sorry I don't know of any good docs in London but I've been working with a Dr Broom in Aberdeen since last October. He's put me onto a protein sparing modified fast (high protein low carbohydrate) and I've lost 3 stones so far. I'm also on hormones and multi vitamins. I found the Atkins Diet book a useful research resource and I now am comfortable talking to my own GPs about what's happening to me - they appear keen to learn from my experiences!

It took a cancer - gene scare to diagnose the PCOS; after over 6 years of being told I had too vivid an imagination by previous doctor's practice. I'm so glad I moved to Aberdeen and have had the good fortune to be referred to people who know what they're talking about - and have convinced me that I have a medical condition and that I'm not just a fat, lazy pig who eats too much...

Good luck with your search - and keep going!! >>
