should I see an endochrinologist?

Hi all, I have a question and maybe you can enlighten me a bit. I've been on met since July 2000, so far my dose is up to 2200mg a day. My ob/gyn sent me back to my primary doctor for treatment after consulting with her. At first she mentioned wanting to send me to an endo until she had her consultation with my primary doc. I am happy with the treatment I am getting from her and she is doing all the follow up blood work that should be done from what I read here. Our goal is to get me at a dose that will give me regular monthly cycles and slowly lose weight. We haven't been too successful at the monthly cycles, but I am losing weight at the slow pace that she wants me to and steady. My question for you all is, what more does an endo do for you that she may or may not be doing for me? I am very curious after reading all the posts here. Please enlighten me and thanks to you all in advance!
