Hi- I just stumbled on this site- I am just now understanding that that I have had PCOS since I was 11 years old and first started menstruating- I know that I have it because I had an ovarian tumor removed 5 years ago- and I have always had only 2 or 3 periods a year. I didn't know this existed! Why didn't any of my OB/GYN's ever tell me what this was???? I just thought is was normal for me to have only a few periods a year- always told to stay on birth control pills- etc...where can I find more information- also been underweight most of my life until the age of 35- as soon as the tumor was removed went back down to my normal weight- recently gained weight ( all int he hip area-I excercise all the time)- need to go see GYN- could I have another tumor- or is the weight gain just a sympton of this....
