JT,

I can't tell you what a released egg feels like as I've never had one. However, if your wife has PCOS, she SHOULD be on Metformin. It's the best treatment option (especially if she is insulin resistent or diabetic). I don't know what dydrogesterone is, but if it's an injectible fertility drug, perhaps she has hyperstimulated ovaries? Either way, she should go the doctor and get checked out. Good luck and I hope she feels better soon!
