Tubuligation leading to Hysterectomy

I am scheduled for sugery in August to have an adnexal mass removed from my left ovary. The Dr. is recommending I have a tubuligation. I read an article some time back that stated about 40% of women who have a tubuligation eventually wind up having a hysterectomy. I would like to get information and statistics on this before my surgery. Is this accurate? Given that I will lose 1 ovary I don't want to risk other complications resulting in additional surgeries. Thanks.
