Diagnosed - but was I really?

I have suspected I have PCOS for some time, and finally gathered all my info and went to a reproductive endocronologist, who told me I don't have PCOS because despite the period problems, my beard, my weight gain concentrated about my trunk area, the loads of skin tags I have... my hormone levels of DHEA and DHEAS are very high (normal high range is 430, mine are in the 800's)... because these hormones are secreted by the adrenal gland, he says I don't have PCOS. I have since learned adrenal driven PCOS is real.

I am now pregnant and saw my obgyn. She told me based on the results from this doctor (he sent her a copy), I am a classic case of PCOS, but all the treatment is, is BCP's (of which I got pregnant on), and weight loss.

I had the fasting glucose test and it was "slightly elevated", at 3 points above normal. But no one recommended a change in diet or medication.

I obviously don't want to take meds now because I am pregnant, but shouldn't I change my diet? Seek help after I deliver my baby?

My obgyn is going to monitor me closely for gestational diabetes during this pregnancy because according to her because of the PCOS and my weight I am at an increased risk. So she's not going to treat it?

I'm so confused, and I guess a little aggravated. It's been a long journey to find someone who will finally agree that I have PCOS, but now I feel like I'm being pushed off to the side. I don't feel these treatments are enough.

Thank you for listening! Kristin
