*hugs* no no Jennifer, it's the other way around!! Your PCOS is causing the weight gain, not the weight causing other problems!! It's all too common that doctors say such uneducated things but it's still wrong. I hope you can maybe consider finding a new doctor or maybe educating the one you have - it makes no sense to attack your PCOS in a backwards way! BEsides you'll still have PCOS even if you are a perfectly 'normal' or slender weight. It sucks, doesn't it! Disclaimer to the above statement: in a way, yes losing weight WILL help your symptoms improve. The whole thing is kind of a vicious cycle. BUT the endocrine problems that are the root of PCOS caused the weight in the first place and will never entirely go away. They just get better with proper treatment like Metformin. The whole thing sucks, doesn't it!! It's frustrating but I hope maybe we can save you some frustration and guilt. Good Luck! Let me know if I can help -
