A bcp that improves IR ??!!!!!

I have been wondering about going on the pill to treat my pcos (because I'm in the UK and there is no chance of getting on met :o( ) but I'd heard a lot about bcp's making IR worse.

Well, I did a search on medline and found a study that showed that one type of bcp improved insulin sensitivity and improved lipids. The pill in the study contained 30 mcg ethinylestradiol and 150 mcgs desogestrel. This is the same as desogen or ortho-cept in the US or marvelon in the UK.

Has anyone been on one of these pills and seen an improvement in their IR or lipids or other symptoms? Or had bad results with them? I'd be really interested to know!

The link for the study is:
