Update and responce to Re: Posts ATTN: all and board monitorFrom: AdoptASAP (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 16 Jun 2001 07:26:01 -0500 (CDT)
First, do not put words in my mouth. I never said tampons cause infertility. What I said was that tampons makes it harder for the lining to come out naturally. No, it was not the same doctor. My female family doctor that has been my doctor and my mothers doctor (shes my moms age and my mom is young) since I was a baby told me this. She is an OD. Which means she is a family, gyna, obstatrician, birthing, ear nose and throat doctor and midwife. She firmly stands by her convictions on tampons because she has seen the damage they cause for something that can be totally avoided by using another method. Tampons are fine once in a while or even alternating but to my doctor (and I), not all the time. As for the doc, met and cycts, I still dont think he is wrong. Gluc/Met is still pretty new to PCOSers...what a few years? Somethin like that. Im not saying that it happens to everyone, and nor did he. He said that it can cause irritation to cycts and should not be taken when you have cycts. You can take it once they are removed or gone with other treatment. Then yes, it can help in the prevention of production of more cycts. On the Other front: Well, my fam doc ok'd the Lap, Hysterosalapingogram and the Diathermy (I think those are the names). So, I have an appointment for consultation with the doctor that is going to do it. He is new to me but I found out he did another procedure on my friend that was sucessful. My fam doc cant because she doesnt have surgery behind her belt. :( That will be the 21st. Spoke with insurance and it is covered. So now we are very excited. What started as a possibility has become a reality. Thank you all for the insight. It really helped me get over the 'pain' fear. Bye everyone. Enjoy your summer and Happy 4th of July!!!
