I don't think brown blood is result of skipping periods. I mean, think about when you get a cut and you wipe the blood. If you looked at the tissue a half hour later, it's brown. I think blood turns brown b/c it's exposed to the air. If it was just b/c it was old blood, everyone's period would be all brown.

So I think it turns brown when it gets a lot of air exposure before you see it. Like at the end of a period when there's hardly anything. Or like you said, during your whole period, there is hardly any flow. So it may take hours for that little bit to trickle down. Hence, it's brown before you see it. When it's red, I think that it's b/c we have so much coming out at once that its still red by the time we see it. My theory anyway!!

Also I remmeber that when i used to skip periods for 3, 4 5 mos at a time, and then get it, it was always red. So I don't think you can write off brown blood as just being an old missed period.

I think glucophage does some weird hormone things to some pple. It sure did to me!! (Did I mention that while I was on it my free testosterone actually went up???) I also had sudden and HUGE probs with dehydration/thirst/dryness EVERYwhere (yknow what I mean) -- do you have that? (And no, everyone, I am not diabetic -- nowhere near--just had it checked so that wasnt it)

good luck! hope this helped!
